What to Expect
So you’ve heard about Cornerstone and are curious enough to pay us a visit. Sunday morning worship starts at 9:30AM. Here is what to expect.
1. There is plenty of parking around the back of the building and down the alley to the right. Guests, and those with mobility issues are encouraged to park in front of the building.
2. You can enter through either door. The door on the right will put you in the back of the worship area. The door on the left will put you in a lobby entrance with access to the coffee and lunch room.
3. Be sure to grab a bulletin from the back table or from a greeter on your way in. It contains the order of worship, song lyrics and any responsive readings. A “sermon art” page is also available for notes or children’s drawings.
4. Come early, stay late. We offer a few refreshments (coffee, cookies) in the ‘lunch room’ before and after the service. On the first Sunday of the month we share lunch after the service.
5. We are more concerned about your heart than your clothes, but if you must know, most of us dress business casual.
6. We love children to be a part of our worship service. We offer a nursery for babies and preschoolers during the preaching time. Older children are invited to stay through the service and draw sermon art. They can show their art work to the pastor after the service and often it is shared during announcements in a future service.
7. A typical non-holiday Sunday attendance ranges anywhere from 60-70. We have room for over 100.
8. Music is contemporary in instrumentation, but we sing a mixture of hymns and newer songs. Several different groups and individuals help lead our worship during the month.
9. Pastor Todd Hare does most of the preaching but at least five times a year an Elder or special guest will preach.
10. The Lord’s Supper is most often observed on the first Sunday of the month.
11. The worship service usually ends around 10:30AM and is then in the non-summer months is followed by Sunday school classes by age group, which you are welcome to stay for as well!
12. We would love to meet you!
